WILL ROGERS DOWNS
TIAGO’S SONG came back from a break to kick off her season with a close-up third here last time out. This slight drop back in distance looks a wise move because she was collared late on. She’s fitter today which should help her get home.
Despite her trainer being in moderate form, Proud Mari can put in a good effort. She took a big step forward when finishing second over course and distance last time out.
Dream Nurse had to take the wide route when blowing away the cobwebs after a break here latest and is capable of better.
QUICKSILVER overcame all sorts of traffic problems to win by a comfortable three-and-a-half lengths here last time. He goes up in trip here but he had plenty of petrol left so should have no issues getting home.
The Moment Is Now has plenty of wins on his CV and takes a drop in grade compared to his last run at Turfway Park. His best form would put him right on the premises.
English Investor did well to hit the frame after getting a bad bump going into the first turn last time. He rallied strongly in the closing stages and will be a threat with better luck in running.
ZAPIT has few miles on the clock and showed enough promise at Remington last season to suggest she can win a race like this. She’s been working well ahead of this drop in grade.
Justaboutright came back from a break to win in good style on her Will Rogers debut last month. This is a hotter race but she had plenty in hand and overcame trouble in running for good measure. That was just her seventh run so there could be a lot more to come.
Shanghai Sally is another lightly raced type is showed promise when second on her course debut last time.
WILLY SPECIAL CATS should find this race a good deal easier than his second at Houston last time. He was forced to come right around the field there before making up ground fast in the straight. Anything like that form should be enough.
Rebel Rumble has plenty of placed efforts under his belt and showed some decent signs when fourth on his first spin around here latest.
Rollin River was going the right way before Christmas and could step up on this comeback. His trainer has been firing in plenty of winners lately.
DRC’S ARM CANDY has been placed on five of her seven starts and this looks an excellent chance to get off the mark. She has taken well to this track and was just run out of it in the final yards over slightly further last time. It won’t take much more to strike.
Sandy Crest looked rusty on her comeback latest but had been in good form at Remington before Christmas and has more to offer.
High Profile comes from a yard that is capable of getting one ready on debut so a market move would be telling.
FAR OUT KAILEE battled all the way to second place here last time, getting the better of Bens Magic Stone who is in the line-up again today and not without a chance. He has three wins from his six runs at the track and can boost that good record here.
Fred’s Country Boy had just over three lengths in hand when winning here last time and is right at home over this mile trip. He looks a big threat, while Davka is having his sights lowered after a fair second at Remington back in November.
PAUL WITH ALL got knocking from pillar to post at Houston last time after earlier ‘winning’ after another barging match that saw him demoted to second. This is just his fourth run so he’s capable of another step forward.
Totally Tiger has been running better than his finishing positions suggest. He got pushed out into the centre of the track last time and has some decent form at Santa Anita to put on the table.
Mayfair Heights is one to keep an eye on making his debut. His jockey and trainer team have a decent strike-rate.
BURGAMEISTER is going up in class today but with good reason after skipping away from his rivals to win with three lengths in hand on his course debut last time. He didn’t get the clearest of runs through so the performance was all the better.
Iza Daddy has landed six podiums in a row and has three wins from ten starts at the track. It’s been a while since he got his head in front but he can be relied on again.
My Way Out has been going well at Turf Paradise with a six-length win there last time. A repeat of that around here would make him a big danger.
SHALLOW RIVER has won three of her past four and has yet to be out of the first three in her six career outings. She took well to this track last time and the slight drop in distance shouldn’t be an issue.
Tulle is going up in grade but won by almost five lengths at Houston last time and saves her best for this distance. If she can repeat that form in new surroundings, she’ll be right there.
New Years Love hit the front too soon last time and did well to hold on for second.
TOTALITY found the line coming a few strides too soon when second at Turf Paradise last time. It was an even better effort because he had to come very wide to make his challenge. His win record is not the greatest but he should be an each-way price again.
Seahawk Wave did well to overcome a massive bump early on when beaten just over a length into second here last time.
Handsome Traveler has been recording some fair speed figures and can land another place at the track.
