Romelu Lukaku says his move to Inter Milan arrived at the perfect time and has given him the”boost of energy” he needed.
The 26-year-old switched into the side on a five-year bargain from Manchester United a month.
The Belgium worldwide has played twice in his 2 games, shooting Inter into the summit of Serie A, along with also the forwards believes he has been lent new motivation after two seasons at Old Trafford by his move into Italy.
“I just knew I came here to play for a big, big team,” Lukaku told Sky at Italy. “where the expectations are very, really high and the ambition of this club is moving in the perfect direction.
“So that it was the ideal step for me personally. 26, [years old] I wished to discover something different playing with a league that I love, for me.
“I explained to (Kwadwo) Asamoah, I really made the perfect move, this can be the power, the increase of energy which I wanted”
Inter boss Antonio Conte has heaped praise for his early-season kind on his summer purchase and Lukaku believes the former Chelsea manager, who was appointed in June, has the leadership qualities to be successful at the San Siro.
When asked what it was like working together with the Italian, Lukaku responded:”It is really excellent.
“It’s very demanding when you are on the coaching field and ahead of the game and at half-time.
“Tactically, he’s really ready, a great incentive and good for the group. He is a fantastic leader of people, and that means you play with heart.”
Inter have bolstered their options further with the signing of Lukaku’s former Alexis Sanchez on a loan from Manchester United
Lukaku, who scored 28 goals in 66 appearances for United, believes the Chile global forward could be the additional”little spark” which Inter need.
“[Alexis is a] great addition for the squad,” Lukaku explained.
“You always want to play the best gamers, but he’s a wonderful man also. We have a room full of players of full and guys that are great.
“So he’s a fantastic addition to it hopefully he will add that small spark to the team that we need.”
