Nemanja Matic says Gunnar Solskjaer will need to maintain himself responsible if Manchester United don’t compete because of the Premier League title.
After making a appearance as a substitute against Southampton matic, who arrived at Old Trafford from Chelsea in 2017, has played just 22 minutes this season.

“The coach must choose the team which will fight to the title and if he doesn’t win, he bears the responsibility,” Matic told reporters ahead of Serbia’s European Qualifier from Portugal on Saturday, live on Sky Sports Premier League.
“I’ve been in football for a long time, I have played nearly all the matches for all the clubs in the previous 10 years. In order for me to perform, one needed to sit the bench and accept that truth, and so do I ”
Solskjaer has chosen 22-year-old Scott McTominay to associate Paul Pogba in central midfield in the first four matches of United and he’s determined to show the erroneous though Matic respects the conclusion.
“In the first two or three games he picked the team without me,” Matic added. “I work as hard as I can. We respect the decision, it is up to me also to bring me back to where I really belong and to show him that he had been wrong.
“There is no issue. I told him I disagreed with him but that he had to decide the team.”
United return after the worldwide break when they host Brendan Rodgers’ unbeaten Leicester on September 14 at Old Trafford.
Paul Scholes does not think the side of Solskjaer may compete to the Premier League title in the subsequent two decades.
