On Wednesday, January 15, Manchester United and Wolverhampton determined the holder of a ticket to the next round of the FA Cup – we assessed the teams’ chances of success and made a prediction.
The duel between the representatives of the Premier League in England will be one of the most interesting on the football menu Wednesday. The first meeting between the rivals did not please the audience with goals scored, leaving the showdown for another match, which was clearly superfluous for both rivals in a busy calendar.
After that meeting, Manchester United managed to play two matches already, showing opposite results. In the League Cup, the team suffered a painful defeat from Manchester City (1: 3), although the score could have been more indecent, and in the Premier League they defeated Norwich (4: 0). It is therefore unlikely that the match can be judged on the state of the “Red Devils”, because the “canaries” are one of the weakest teams in the championship.
However, it should be noted that Manchester United rarely loses in the native arena. Over the last 15 matches at Old Trafford, the recent defeat by the townspeople is the only failure.
Injuries list: Eric Bertrand Bailly, Marcos Alberto Rojo, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Paul Pogba, Scott Mctominay and Axel Tuanzebe.
“Wolves” in the match of the last round of the championship could not score three points, having drawn 1-1 with Newcastle. Moreover, in this match, “Wolverhampton” squandered a number of opportunities for scoring “forty”, which is not so characteristic of the wards of Nuno Santo.
In general, judging by previous fights, the results of the “wolves” indicate a slight game recession. The team has not won in four games in a row. In addition to a draw with Newcastle and Manchester United, Wolverhampton lost to Liverpool (0: 1) and Watford (1: 2).
Wolves ”played very well in the last FA Cup draw. The team reached the semifinals, where only in extra time they lost to Watford (2: 3).
Injuries list: Will not play in the match Willy Boly, Morgan Gibbs-White and Diogo Jota.
- Manchester United scored seven wins in their last ten home games.
- In eight of their last ten home games, Manchester United scored at least two goals.
- In nine of the last ten home matches, Manchester United played a forecast of “total over 2.5”.
- Wolves have won just two of their last nine away matches. The forecast “both will score” was played in nine out of ten previous guest fights of “wolves”.
- In four of the last five in-person matches, both teams scored.
Manchester United vs Wolverhampton Predictions
Manchester United can not beat the “wolves” for five consecutive matches, but only one of them took place at Old Trafford. Despite the fact that in the first meeting there were no goals scored, in the upcoming match, in our opinion, the opponents will be able to hit each other’s goal. The hosts have problems in defense, and the Wolves know how to catch on the counterattacks. At the same time, the “red devils” at home scored a lot.
- Manchester United Double Chance (Win or Draw)
