There are only days within this game when we see a race is won by a motorist and it brings delight. Sunday at Monza was one of those days.
I really don’t think there was – Lewis Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas along with Toto Wolff down appeared to be pleased for the Monegasque star that is young!
Qualifying was comical and bizarre. Every driver was obviously chasing the slipstream, since it was worth about half a second. However, what was confusing was when the business lineup was spanned by Carlos Sainz, he had approximately 30 minutes into the flag. We understood so it became pretty clear that the remainder were going to miss this flag, that the sector was about 26 seconds. This was easy for us to see only about the television screen so quite how the teams with their GPS software obtained it wrong is exceptional.
Anyway, a Grand Prix that was brilliant was delivered by Sunday. Since Martin Brundle place it following the raceMercedes threw everything in it but he soaked up the pressure superbly. It was a classic college, edge of the seat Monza thriller with all the best three showing some rather driving.
Right from the opening lap, Charles along with the Mercedes drivers settled into a rail. Together with the whole of Italy seeing them like hawks, delivered a wonderful pitstop mercedes chose their time to deliver in Lewis Charles assaulted on his in-lap and the Ferrari mechanics.
The decision to run their tyres came back to Friday, the classes and in general the design philosophy. The Mercedes includes more downforce which means that they can look after their paychecks longer. It also means they light them up quicker than Ferrari and can put more energy to the tyres straight from the pits. The fact that Ferrari were competitive on the mediums in Spa and on endure more degradation because of their lower downforce and Friday in Monza led them to put the tyre on Charles’ car.
That is when the race really came alive. Lewis on a set of mediums which were warmed up for attacking, against Charles to a pair of tyres that are challenging that had to fully light up. It had been severely driving from both the men.

I really enjoy the concept of this black warning stunt out of Michael Masi, the brand new race director for the period along with also the stewards, and it was a great choice to not break up the battle but just warn Charles he would not eliminate this type of strong defence on a normal basis.
Mercedes played with a game by splitting their alternatives and getting Valtteri to move. After several laps of Lewis piling on the pressure and Leclerc only making one real mistake into the chicane, it was the world winner who made a mistake himself at exactly the exact same location. It showed it was to halt the vehicle in the end of the long straight at a braking zone and precisely how hard they were all pushing. I’m not making excuses for Lance but merely saying I could understand it a little more than the move of Vettel.
It’s tough to believe the European season is over and we are off to Singapore next for its flyaways. I completely expect Max Verstappen and Red Bull and the Mercedes drivers to be fighting with round Singapore’s streets. Last year, Lewis delivered one of the qualifying laps ever seen in Formula 1, and I am really excited to see next week if the Dutchman can conquer him!
