Michal Cieslak (19-0, 13 KO)

The 30-year-old Pole has been fighting in the professional ring since 2013 and occupies high positions in the WBC ranking. No matter how good Cieslak is, he received the title fight by chance – his compatriots Krzysztof Włodarchik and Krzysztof Głowacki refused to fight with Makabu for the vacant belt, choosing other options.

Michal spent 19 fights and won 19 victories. He came to the professionals from an amateur base and experience of playing in the WSB league. Cheslak never boxed outside of Poland. The fight in DR Congo can put pressure on the challenger both psychologically and physically. After all, the climate in Africa is completely different, and boxing there is more difficult.

The Pole lit up in the professional ring only last year, getting two important victories – over Olanrewaju Durodola and Youri Kalenga. Cieslak, despite the status of an underdog, has some advantages. First of all, he is taller than Makabu, and his arms are longer. Michal’s height is 6 ft 3 in, and the striking distance is 7 ft 1 in. The Pole has 13 early victories (65%).

Ilunga Makabu vs Michal Cieslak Fight Prediction

Cieslak can create a sensation if he selects the right tactics. Makabu already had problems with tall and long-armed Bellew. But it is enough one accurate hit for Ilunge to destroy all plans of Michal. Still, victories over the past peak Durodolla and Calenga do not inspire confidence in the Pole. We predict a win for Ilunga Makabu.
