Garbine Muguruza

The first steps in tennis Muguruza made at the age of 16 years. Having started performing in a series of ITF tournaments in 2009, she already won her first title in December. In the next two seasons, the tennis player chalked up another five trophies in this category. The victory at the 25 thousandths in Florida was a turning point in the career of Garbinier, who received an invitation to the WTA series in Miami. The debut was a success: in the very first matches, the beginning tennis player beat Vera Zvonareva and Flavia Penetta, the ninth racket of the world, after reaching the fourth round. From this moment, Garbine becomes a regular participant in the WTA championships and by the end of the season is in the top 100.

2013 brought the tennis player the first WTA title in pairs, won in Hobart in tandem with Maria Teresa Torro-Flor. In the same season, she made her debut at the Australian Open and in the future, she only added. The following year was marked by the first single WTA title. In 2015, Garbine made her way to the final of the Grand Slam tournament for the first time, losing the Wimbledon title to Serena Williams.

The following seasons were the peak of the Muguruza career. In 2016, she raised the first Grand Slam trophy conquered in France over her head. In a stubborn final confrontation, she managed to beat the youngest of the Williams sisters – 7:5, 6:4. A year later, the tennis player celebrated a triumph at Wimbledon, where she prevailed over Williams Sr. – 7:5, 6:0.

The American segment of the season was no less successful for her, as a result of which she was ahead of her closest rivals, Karolina Pliskova and Simona Halep. In September 2017, Garbine became the first racket of the world.

The following seasons were not so successful for the tennis player. Due to a series of injuries, she could not feel for her game, often eliminating in the early stages of major competitions. Garbine left the top 10 and continued to lose points, by the end of the season – 2019, being on the 35th line.

For the first time in a long time, Garbine Muguruza will play in the quarter-finals of the Grand Slam tournament. Directly in Melbourne in 2017, Garbine played in the quarterfinals. Lost then Coco Vandevege (4-6, 0-6), although she went in the role of a pronounced favorite in the line of bookmakers.

More than once, we noted in our predictions for the Muguruza matches that we managed to bring ourselves in good shape to the start in Melbourne this year. After two starting matches with the given sets, the Spanish tennis player confidently coped with the representatives of the top 10 Svitolina (6-1, 6-2) and Bertens (6-3, 6-3).

In the match against Bertens, she was already more mistaken than in the game with Elina. However, she significantly exceeded the opponent at the reception. On the second serve, only seven of 21 draws were able to take Kiki. Muguruza herself showed just a great game on the first serve, taking 90% of the points. At the same time, she acted uncertainly on the second serve, which Kiki took advantage of and made two breaks.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova

The active development of the athlete began in the junior category. Already at the age of fourteen, Anastasia became the winner of the Australian Open. At the same time, it was possible to become a triumph of both individual performances and doubles. In the final, Caroline Wozniacki was defeated, and in a pair, at that time Sharon Fichman was a teammate. It was at that moment that Pavlyuchenkova climbed to first place in the world ranking among juniors. In the same 2006 was the final of France Open, where quite a bit was not enough to win. The athlete continued to perform at the Grand Slam tournaments, while she quite often achieved success in both singles and doubles.

At the moment, Anastasia lives and trains in Moscow. A career athlete on a professional level started in December 2005. Pavlyuchenkova’s height is 177 centimeters and weighs 72 kilograms. The tennis player prefers to attack from the working right hand, and strikes from the left only when necessary, working with a double grip. Anastasia is training in an interesting tandem – father Sergei and brother Alexander. Over her career, she has already managed to earn more than $ 9 million. During individual performances, 12 titles were earned in the WTA series and another 5 successful stages were in the ITF series. The ranking also managed to advance quite high.

The best result in a career is the 13th position, which was reached in 2011. Adult tournaments of the Grand Slam did not submit even once, 5 times at different stages Pavlyuchenkova got to the quarter-finals. In pairs, the athlete also performed successfully. Anastasia was able to take 5 WTA tournaments, as well as 8 in the ITF series. In addition, it turned out to get to 21 places in the ranking of paired players. Oddly enough, there were also 5 quarterfinals at Grand Slam tournaments, but Pavlyuchenkova and her partners never went further.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova completed her main task at the Australian Open – she defended points for last year’s quarterfinal. Now he will not experience serious psychological pressure.

The last two matches have turned out to be very difficult for the Russians. First, she beat Plishkova in two tiebreakers (7-6, 7-6). Following in the 1/8 finals was a tense match with Kerber (6-7, 7-6, 6-2). In the course of the first set, she missed the advantage, lost a tie-break.

In the second installment, the tennis players never gave up their pitch; Anastasia had chances to take a set without a tie-break but did not realize set points. In the decisive set, the Russian woman more powerfully and reliably played.

We note in the match against Kerber the super-aggressive game of Pavlyuchenkova. Immediately 71 winners performed Nastya with 36 unforced errors. In women’s tennis, this is rarely seen.
