Francis “The Predator” Ngannou
The 33-year-old Cameroonian with a French passport is one step away from the title fight after a series of three wins. Ngannou made his debut in mixed martial arts in 2013, but already in the second fight he was defeated by Zuman Cissé. In 2015, UFC management announced the signing of a contract with a promising African.
Francis had 17 fights, 14 victories and 3 defeats. In UFC, Ngannou lost to Stipe Miocic and Derrick Lewis, but beat Andrei Arlowski, Curtis Blaydes (twice), Anthony Hamilton, Alistair Overeem, Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos. Cameroonian is ex-UFC heavyweight champion.
Ngannou is a real nightmare for any heavyweight: big, powerful and, most importantly, kicker. Francis is 6’2″ and his arms are 211 inches tall. Thanks to his long limbs, the Cameroonian takes out his rivals with scary panchas from a decent distance. The MMA story does not know a stronger punch than Francis. The African literally knocks his opponents down with single punches already in the initial rounds. However, the Cameroonian hasn’t become a champion yet, and it’s no accident, because he has two serious problems – endurance and fighting. But even with these shortcomings, he has a chance to win the UFC title.
Jairzinho “Bigi Boy” Rozenstruik
The 31-year-old from Suriname is also one of the most intimidating MMA punchers in the cohort, but he’s still no match for Ngannou in terms of impact power. Jairzinho can offer the Cameroonian make-up some good boxing skills and precise counterattack work. Rozenstruik, like his colleague, is not strong in the fight, but he is more enduring and does not lose the quality of a blow even in the fifth round.
Rozenstruik is a strong kickboxer who has had more than 80 fights in this discipline. Jairzinho hits more technical combinations than Ngannou, but still fails in terms of impact power, despite 9 KOs.
Jairzinho does not have the same anthropometry as Ngannou, but the heavyweight is large enough and powerful. The Surinamese is 188 cm tall with a handspan of 198 cm. Rozenstruik performed in professional kickboxing for about seven years, where he reached the record of 76-8-1 (64 KO). Impressive knockout statistics from Jairzinho continued in MMA – 9 early victories in 10 fights.
By the way, at the moment Surinamese has no losses in mixed martial arts, and his record consists of 10 victories. Rozenstruik won against Junior Albini and Andrei Arlovski, and in the last fight knocked out Alistair Overeem. He has never met Ngannou level punchers, so he is not perceived by MMA experts as an equal force for a Cameroonian.
Betting Tips Statistics
- Jairzinho Rozenstruik has not lost yet having 10 wins in his asset as a UFC fighter
- Francis outperforms his opponent, both physically and anthropometrically, with an advantage in height and handspan of 5 and 13 centimeters respectively.
Ngannou vs Rozenstruik Prediction
Fighters are of the same height, but in a swing of arms a significant advantage Ngannou – 13 cm. Clearly that’s a big plus for Francis. In terms of MMA, Ngannou is more experienced, but in purely combat experience, Rozenstruik is not inferior to him.
Both extremely strong physically. A fight can end up with one hard hit from either side. That’s why this fight is interesting.
Statistically, Rozenstruik hits harder, but he misses more. Jair’s hands always hold low. And even if Francis isn’t a tech, it won’t be hard for him to punch that hole in the defence. In terms of physical and striking power, we think Ngannou has a clear superiority after all. That will be the decisive factor in their confrontation. Even the same Auverim won Rozenstruik in position wrestling.
Another point that we noticed in Jair’s actions. He has waited too long. Often these pauses take whole minutes. And Francis doesn’t like to wait. He’s dangerous when he gets down to business. Of course, we don’t rule out that the fight can go all the way.
- Our prediction: Francis Ngannou will win.
