Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr intends to play on Sunday despite an ongoing hip injury that prevents him from”opening up and sprinting”.
Beckham wasn’t listed for the season opener against the Tennessee Titans on Wednesday’s injury report.
He upgraded reporters on the standing of an ailment he has been dealing with for months. He did not play at the pre-season.
“It’s like a very speedy car with just like a little alignment or some thing off,” he said. “And it’s right in the centre of everything you need. The vehicle can go, but it is dangerous, so you know what I believe?
“So, it is only something I have been trying to figure out, in and out of rehabilitation each and every moment. Never really dealt with anything like this.”
Beckham, 26, missed 16 of 32 games. He played all 16 games only once (2016) in five years there.
The three-time Pro Bowl selection said that the damage is becoming better.
“It is something which hopefully keeps progressing and becoming better and worse,” he explained.
“But it’s just something you’ve got to manage. We have a game Sunday, so it is time to move. … I will be running as fast as I can run. If that’s not a hundred, then I feel confident in myself that wherever I am at, I’ll be ready to play with wherever I’m at.”
